The NSRC is proud to announce this month’s Respiratory Showcase-Saint Francis Medical Center
Since 1887, Saint Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, NE has carried out their mission of building a healthier community by providing increasing sophisticated healthcare to all Central Nebraskans.
Saint Francis Medical Center has recently opened a nine floor patient tower and with over 100 physicians and more than 1,300 employees it has become the regional referral center. With this great addition, the hospital gained their first ever pulmonologist; Dr. Salam Salman. With his arrival, the respiratory staff has already began to provide more services and are looking forward to the future and what it has to bring.
 Saint Francis Medical Center The Respiratory Department at Saint Francis Medical Center consists of 17 full-time respiratory therapists and one part-time therapist. The Respiratory Department provides an array of tests and therapies for those suffering from breathing problems throughout the hospital. We respond to all Code Blues, Rapid Responses, and Trauma Codes.
The department has an active Pulmonary Rehab program that has been used by hundreds of patients in the Central Nebraska; staffed by a registered respiratory therapist. A four-bed Sleep Lab; staffed by a registered poly-somnographer; that offers patient testing seven days a week.
