Madonna kicks off 2016 telehealth series

Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals, Community Asthma Education Initiative of Lincoln and the Nebraska Society for Respiratory Care will kick off the 2016 Chronic Disease Management Across the Continuum of Care Series” with its first session on Jan. 25.

The Community Asthma Education Initiative of Lincoln will be paying the fee for any facility across the state that wishes to participate in the Jan. 25 kick-off event. Each facility can have as many participants as they wish for 2.0 hours of continuing education.

Nominations sought for Therapist of the Year

It is time to nominate an outstanding respiratory colleague for the 2016 NSRC Therapist of the Year Award.

The NSRC has a designation of three regions in Nebraska: Omaha, Lincoln, and Out State Nebraska. Since therapists practice in rural and urban areas, from homecare to acute care, we are looking for your nomination of outstanding therapists from all of these regions for the 2016 Therapist of the Year. All nominees will be recognized at the state convention, and the Therapist of the Year recipients will be selected by NSRC membership popular vote.

AARC dues increase effective Oct. 1

Due to the ever-increasing costs of doing business in today’s world, the AARC Board of Directors has approved an increase in annual membership dues, effective Oct. 1, 2015.

While no one is happy when the cost of something goes up, the AARC is proud that this will be the first increase in membership dues since 2001. They have worked hard to utilize funds efficiently and effectively to keep the cost of membership affordable, and will continue to do so.
