On October 3rd the Nebraska Coalition for Lung Awareness, a volunteer partnership of health care organizations, including the NSRC, hosted the Vent 5K.
The Vent 5K allows states to participate in a local event whose goal is to promote lung disease awareness and raise money for the American Respiratory Care Foundation (ARCF). Money raised through Vent 5K events, is placed in the ARCF national fund and made available to lung disease patients and organizations who promote lung disease education.
This year we could not have had a more beautiful day for our 1st annual Vent 5K. Fifty+ participants/supporters took part in the event, raising over $2230 for the ARCF. Teams had fun either walking or running in costumes with their decked out vents. This year the best dressed vent/team award was voted Nebraska Heart Hospital’s “pit crew”.
